ETHOS Framework / New Ways of Working

Session Description:

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused disruptions throughout organizations worldwide. At the same time, there’s been a large shift from thinking of this as a pandemic we need to get through to the possibility that our future could ultimately look a lot like right now…or better. Employees and customers are more open to innovation. Leaders have an opportunity to design the future, and iteration is critical to enable flexibility and inclusivity. This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to reshape how we work.

Change leaders play a critical role in helping their organizations and their leaders evolve and adapt. We’ll use Slalom’s ETHOS Model as a framework to explore the critical dimensions and new trends for the future of work:

  • Engagement: How do we engage our employees, teams, and customers?

  • Talent: What are our strategies for retaining and attracting top employees?

  • Health: How will we ensure the safety and well-being of our employees?

  • Operations: What are the processes that need to be reimagined?

  • Systems: Which systems must change or be adopted?

In this session, we’ll take a look at the evolving demands of organizations and their leaders. What can we expect from 2022 and what can leaders do to prepare for the new world of work?

Roundtables:

We’ll continue our session in smaller, virtual roundtables, with a focus on group conversation, guided by each small group’s facilitators:

Breakouts 1-2:

The Future of Work and You: What are the greatest priorities for you and your organization as you navigate the future of work in 2022? We’ll use Slalom’s ETHOS framework (Engagement, Talent, Health, Operations and System) to focus the conversation on the topics that most matter to you. A link to the Miro Board for each breakout will be available at the beginning of the session.

Wholly Shift: Completely Changing the Conversation on Bias, Diversity, Privilege, and Inclusion using Brain Science

Session Description:

Every organization is becoming increasingly focused on the topic of “Diversity” and/or “Inclusion.” However, research indicates that most diversity training doesn’t work.

In this session, we will learn to recognize and overcome the most common brain science hurdles to effective diversity and inclusion training so that we can finally make a meaningful impact on your organization. Every registered attendee will receive an electronic copy of Eric's book "The Cure for Stupidity"

Leading Change with Emerging Technologies

Session Description:

Industry 4.0 and next generation technologies, such as internet of things (IoT), blockchain, analytics and AI, will transform how public entities operate, how services are offered, and what outcomes are created.

These smart technologies facilitate the emergence of innovative business models that force cities, utilities and other companies to reconsider their roles and scope in new ways. It is a disruptive change to how many industries operate.

Successful transition to these new emerging business and operating models require expertise in new generation of digital technologies, agile and learning organizations, an innovation culture, new operational processes and policies, and the ability to navigate change. We will explore these new technologies, why they are relevant to our work,  challenges, opportunities and key takeaways in migrating to a new paradigm.
